Episcopal areas invited to Habitat for Humanity build days

In January the Diocese of Toronto made a $100,000 gift to Habitat for Humanity GTA to support the building of affordable housing for a family of four in the Brimley Rd. and Lawrence Ave. area of Toronto. This gift was a tithe from the diocese’s Ministry Allocation Fund and is the largest single donation from a religious organization in Habitat GTA’s history (you can read about the gift here).

As part of this donation, the diocese has been offered the opportunity to participate in a number of build days to assist with the work at the project site. A day has been set aside for each episcopal area, with space for up to 20 participants each day. If you would like more information about participating in this day of community building for your area, please contact your area office. Area dates and contact information are listed below.

No construction experience is necessary, and all safety equipment, training and lunch are provided by Habitat for Humanity. Space is limited. Those chosen to participate will be notified at least eight days prior to the build date.

Register online: please choose the date that corresponds with your area.
