Funeral information for Archbishop Terence Finlay

All are invited to join all or part of the family visitation, prayer vigil and funeral liturgy for Archbishop Terence Finlay at St. James Cathedral. Details for each event are listed here.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Anglican Healing Fund of the Anglican Church of Canada; the Our Faith-Our Hope: Re-imagine Church campaign of the Diocese of Toronto; or the Cathedral Church of St. James.

Vigil: Friday, March 24

5:30 p.m.: Reception of Archbishop’s body at the King Street doors of the cathedral.

6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: All are welcome to the cathedral to greet Archbishop’s family and to share memories.

10:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Saturday: Silent vigil will be kept in the cathedral. All are welcome. If you wish to join the list of those designated to keep watch, please contact the cathedral.

Entrance to the cathedral after 11 p.m. will be by the Old Sacristy Door on Church Street.

Funeral Liturgy:  Saturday, March 25

The main doors of the Cathedral will open at 8:30 a.m.

All clergy are welcome to vest with white stole. Please register to vest and process. All clergy vesting must arrive at 65 Church St. by 9 a.m. The clergy procession will enter the cathedral at 9:30 a.m.
