Resources

York-Scarborough is gathering quite a collection of fantastic resources available for clergy and parishes to use or borrow.  Also on this page are a number of new links, including a link to Feasts & Fasts: exploring the rhythms of the Christian year, a popular blog written by the Rev. Catherine Side Hamilton on the feast days and fast days, saints and sinners of the Christian year.  Catherine says “My hope is that it will offer people a way to live in “Christian time”, in the midst of their busy lives.”  Be sure to check it out!

Another new link is to the Centre for Excellence in Christian Education, a valuable resource in our Diocese.

New Regional Dean

The new regional dean in the Scarborough deanery is the Rev. Greg Carpenter, beginning October 1, 2014.  We are grateful to the Rev. Heather McCance for her valuable and faithful service as regional dean over the last four years.

“Sharing Faith” Cards Now Available

You may have been hearing rumours of a new initiative starting in York-Scarborough, called “Sharing Faith Dinners”.  This is a Canadianised version of a relatively new American program that invites parishioners into a conversation over dinner, facilitated by a deck of cards with questions about faith on them.  There are a number of decks available at the Bishop’s Office for purchase or borrowing.  Please contact Karen at 416-363-6021 ext 253 or kisaacs@toronto.anglican.ca for more details or to obtain a set.

Hotseat

On a little-used section of our website is the page “Bishop in the Hotseat”, where Bishop Patrick has agreed to answer questions posed to him by priests and laity.  The first question is up: feel free to send in your own!
