One of the most important components of a successful FaithWorks campaign is arranging to have a speaker come to your parish or congregation. A gifted, motivating speaker can really demonstrate the essence of the FaithWorks theme: how we care for one another.
It is a simple four-step process:
Step 1: Read the community ministry and partner profiles in the FaithWorks Manual to get a sense of who you think would be the most ideal speaker for you.
Step 2: Select several optional dates for speaking engagements. Remember to give enough lead time (plan at least two months in advance). The busiest times of the year are during the FaithWorks campaign period during April and May.
Step 3: New Procedure - A gifted, motivating speaker can really demonstrate the essence of FaithWorks: how we care for one another. Julie Poore has stepped forward to coordinate the FaithWorks Speaker Bureau (thank you, Julie!). Contact Julie at 705-326-6598 or by email to fwspeakersbureau@toronto.anglican.ca. She will be happy to help arrange a speaker from one of the FaithWorks Ministries or Partners to visit your parish and talk about their ministry.
Step 4: On the date of the speaking engagement have the speaker meet a contact person who will orient them to your venue and be sure that they have set up well in advance of the speaking time.
