The Diocesan Archives provides safe, secure and controlled storage for non-current parish records, including baptism, marriage and burial records, proof of status for legal purposes as well as genealogical purposes.
Archives also holds the parish history files and frequently receives calls from parishioners seeking historical information for events such as special anniversaries. Photographs and architectural drawings may also be requested and borrowed for displays.
Staff may be consulted regarding records-keeping, storage and records retention issues. Tours of the Archives are available by appointment.
The Archives is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for people to conduct their own research.
Enquiries are also welcomed by mail, email and telephone. However, only limited research can be undertaken on behalf of patrons. Please refer to the fee schedule for further information.
Additional information can be found in Information for Parishes and Information for Researchers.
