Pre-Synod Meeting for YCV Clergy and Lay Delegates to Synod

Episcopal Pre-Synod meetings prepare delegates for the upcoming Regular Session of Synod. Attendance at Pre-Synod meetings is extremely important, as this is the forum for Synod Members to engage in discussion and debate on items being brought before Synod for approval.

The date and location of the YCV Area PreSynod is

Wednesday, October 23, 2019
St. John the Baptist, Dixie
719 Dundas St. E., Mississauga

Applications for YCV Area Council Grants

Applications are due November 4, 2019. Grants are awarded in two categories:

  • FaithWorks Grants to assist parish and community outreach projects.
  • Ministry Development Grants for new ministry programs related to one of the two focus areas identified for YCV, namely, Evangelism and Children & Youth Ministry.
While there is no longer a “Parish Partnership” granting envelope, applications for projects being carried out in collaboration with another parish or organization are still welcome, assuming they fall into one of the above categories.

There have been no applications for Area Council FaithWorks Grants as yet in 2019, which means there is money for the asking. Do you have a parish project in mind that

o benefits those outside the congregation?
o focuses on the wider community?
o reflects Christian principles and the priorities of the Diocese?
o fosters cooperation with other Christian denominations or people of other faith groups?

If any of the above applies, then you should ask for a FaithWorks grant from your Area Council.  Don’t have such a ministry project in place? Then, think of one now and make an application. Think of what some seed money might make possible!

See the Area Grants page for further grant guidelines and the application forms. Signed applications and financial statements should be sent in PDF form to aralph@toronto.anglican.ca
