Diocese of Toronto launches new website

By Stuart Mann

Welcome to the Diocese of Toronto’s new website. When we began the planning process several months ago, we wanted the website to accomplish three things:

  • to deliver the Diocese’s information and resources to users quickly and easily;
  • to make it especially easy for clergy and lay leaders, our two biggest user groups, to find the resources they need to do their jobs; and
  • to create a website that reflects the Diocese’s position as a leader in the Anglican Communion.

To accomplish these objectives, we have created a website that has a number of exciting features, including text-rich drop-down boxes, “toolboxes” for clergy and laity, a Google Custom Search, a new and improved Find A Church/Cleric, and a photo slider on the homepage. All of this is presented in a clean, simple format.

Like moving into a new house, it will take some time to put everything in its proper place. The Google Custom Search, for example, will take a day or two to become fully functional. But rest assured that we are working hard to put everything in order. We appreciate your patience while this happens.

We hope you enjoy the new website and tell your friends about it. We believe that the resources here will help build communities of hope and compassion not just in our Diocese but around the Anglican Communion.
