Susan Abell will be the interim chief administrative officer of the diocese beginning Nov. 8.
Ms. Abell has been active in the Church at both the local and diocesan levels. She has served as a churchwarden and parish selection facilitator, and she was the chair of the working group for Growing in Christ, the diocese’s strategic plan. Ms. Abell has extensive business experience in the not-for-profit sector, previously serving as executive director of the Frontenac Children’s Aid Society, executive director of Youthlink, Toronto and executive director of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa. She currently works as a consultant of management resources.
As interim CAO, Ms. Abell’s responsibilities will include implementing Growing in Christ, supervising the diocesan team leaders and overseeing the administrative functions of the synod office. She will work two days a week as we search for a full-time CAO.
