Children’s Ministry Resources for Clergy

We hope this page will provide useful resources for developing worship with children.

Lift Up Your Hearts God’s Children is a great page from the ELCIC website. It has many resources and guides to help prepare worship for and with children. You’ll find articles that include music, baptismal discussion, Sunday School, liturgy and much more.

Sermons4Kids was created by a Baptist music director and teacher to help those in children’s ministry or who work with children in Christian schools or organizations. It not only has weekly sermon ideas but Sunday School links as well. The weekly sermons are available in Spanish. The site is easy to navigate and a great resource.

SmallTall Music is a great way to support ministry with children. Its mission is “to build up the body of Christ by creating and sharing songs of faith for small and tall.” Bryan Moyer Suderman is a Toronto-area songwriter whose catchy and theologically rich songs are used in homes, for Sunday morning worship, in Sunday School, clubs, schools and camps. They’ve also been published in songbooks, including the “Church Hymnal, 4th Edition” of the Church of Scotland. There’s a songbook and activity guide that can be used in conjunction with “God’s Love is for Everybody,” the first of his two CDs of original music.
