The Diocesan Archives provides safe, secure and controlled storage for non-current parish records. It also maintains the central filing system for active and semi-active files of the Diocese.
We welcome consultation about records management and the transfer of archival materials for permanent retention, such as registers, to the Archives. Additionally, you can review materials already on deposit for your parish, such as photographs and documents for special events like anniversaries. On occasion material may be borrowed for such events.
The Diocesan Archives will be closed to visitors and research inquiries starting July 2 and will reopen on September 1 so staff can undertake inventory work and other much-needed projects. Urgent inquiries, including requests for certified copies will still be processed during the closure, but all others will have to wait until the Archives re-opens.
The Archives is currently closed for in person research due to COVID 19. Once we reopen, if you would like to conduct your own research, the Archives will be open by appointment only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. As plans change this space will be updated. When the Archives reopens tours of the Archives can be also be arranged by appointment only.
