Crosstalk offers help with vacation bible school

Is your church looking to offer Vacation Bible School this summer, but the thought of planning and preparing the curriculum has you feeling overwhelmed? Consider inviting the amazing folks from Crosstalk Ministries to do it all for you! Their team of 2-3 trained, enthusiastic and energetic youth leaders will bring the entire program right to you. All you need to do is provide the space and a few leaders to help run the program. They’ll even train your leaders!

The Crosstalk team charges $675 for this program, but the Diocese will cover the $350 deposit for you, so that means your cost is only $325.

Want to learn more? Watch the video and read through the information package, and if you still have questions, reach out to Valerie at Crosstalk or Nancy Hannah, Area Youth Coordinator for York-Simcoe. They’d be happy to answer any and all questions you might have.

Open to youth age 13-18 and their leaders from all episcopal areas! Empowering youth to live their faith in their communities, Interface is a hands-on social justice workshop exploring questions like: What does this have to do with my faith in Jesus? How can I help bring about a change? Isn’t this issue too big for me to have an impact?

Thanks to everyone who came out to our 2018 event on homelessness!

Empowering youth leaders in their context. Our May 2018 event at Kingfisher Bay Retreat Centre focused on youth ministry, with a special workshop on the Enneagram.

Recharge Retreat

Once a year we come together for our annual ReCharge youth retreat, empowering youth to deepen their relationship with God and each other. The retreat is for youth ages 12-17. During the weekend, we enjoy a range of contemporary and traditional forms of worship, which lets us experience the great diversity of worship the Anglican Church has to offer!

Registration is now open for our 2019 retreat! It will take place Sept. 13-15 at Muskoka Woods. Our theme is “How to get closer to Jesus through our prayer life.” Bishop Peter Fenty and Bishop Jenny Andison are joining us to share how their prayer life built their personal relationships with Jesus (along with all the fun games).

Youth Ministry Apprenticeship Program (YMAP)

YMAP is meant to equip and prepare potential leaders for a youth ministry position in the diocese. Leaders will learn not in a classroom, but by doing actual youth ministry. If you have a passion for working with young people and a desire to grow in your faith, this is the perfect program for you! Or, if your parish wants to create a sustainable youth ministry, this is a great place to start!

To learn more, read the YMAP brochure. For more information, contact Christian Harvey at
