Upcoming Celebrations of New Ministry

Rev. Canon Donald Butler as Incumbent of St. Andrew, Scarborough – January 20, 2019 at 4:00pm.

York-Scarborough Parish Leadership Workshop

Thank you for taking on a leadership role in your parish. In order to help you navigate your new job we are holding a half-day workshop to provide you with the most up-to-date information that will help you do your job.  The workshop is being held at St. Andrew, Scarborough Saturday, April 7th and will run from 9:00 – 12:00pm.

This year we are asking that parishes send leadership team members who are new to the position or have not attended one of these workshops before. This includes churchwardens, deputy churchwardens, treasurers and parish administrators.

All clergy are invited to attend this workshop but especially clergy who are new to the job, the parish and the area. We also strongly encourage clergy with new parish leaders to attend with them.

York-Scarborough Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John Series

Have you ever wished to deepen your relationship with God? To experience a warm friendship with God? Maybe even fall in love with God – again or for the very first time?

Bishop Kevin Robertson will join with the Reverend Julie Burn and the Reverend Sean Davidson of the Church of the Resurrection to lead this Lenten journey through prayer and reflection on the Gospel of John.  This event is open to all clergy and lay people across York-Scarborough.

This 5-week series will be held on Monday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm at the Church of the Resurrection (1100 Woodbine Avenue), beginning February 26.  Refreshments will be provided.  Each evening will conclude with a brief service of Compline.

Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John prayer journals are available by downloading them from the website: meetingjesusinjohn.org.  They will also be available at the Clergy PreLenten Day on February 6 and at the first session on February 26.

Please register in advance so that our host parish can plan the space and refreshments.
