The tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, remain etched in our memories because of the impact they had around the world. Many lost their lives, and their families were devastated. At this time, we again remember them and their families. Such a tragedy is a stark reminder of the frailty of life and the importance of living each day to its fullest, loving neighbour as self. It also reminds us sadly of the reality of evil in our midst, and therefore challenges us to never be wary in pursuing what is right, good and just for all. Let us not be crippled by the fear that such tragedies can engender in us, but through the love and confidence that we have in the God of peace whom we serve, live each day pursuing the things that make for peace and build up our common life.
