The Rev. Joan Cavanaugh-Clark, the incumbent of the Parish of Minden-Kinmount, is asking Anglicans to pray for the community and the parish, especially St. Paul, Minden. The church and the rectory are surrounded by water due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall and melting snow. Many residents of Minden, including Ms. Cavanaugh-Clark and her husband, have been evacuated. The Township of Minden Hills declared a state of emergency on April 20.
Ms. Cavanaugh-Clark said ministry will continue as much as possible during the evacuation. Members of St. Paul, Minden, will worship at a shared service at St. James, Kinmount, at 10 a.m. this Sunday. “We are a strong parish, and the parish has faced many challenges with grace and strength,” wrote Ms. Cavanaugh-Clark in an email to parishioners. “This challenge is no different, and together we will come through it.”
