Clergy reminded about T1213 package
The 2019 T1213 package for clergy receiving a housing allowance was mailed in August. Clergy living in a rectory do not need to apply for this. Clergy receiving a housing allowance must file form T1213 and receive written approval from the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) before being allowed a reduction of tax at source. If you have not yet submitted your paperwork to the CRA, you should do so immediately. If you have submitted your paperwork and do not receive a response from the CRA by Nov. 30, follow up with the CRA at 1-800-959-8281.

Vestry motion focuses on poverty
This year’s social justice vestry motion asks parishes to commit to standing in solidarity with Ontarians living in poverty in two ways: by increasing their direct outreach to people in need; and by increasing their advocacy for systemic change that will benefit those in greatest need. The motion is open-ended to allow for parishes to adapt their actions to their situation, though suggestions are given. The text of the motion, suggestions for action and background information are available in a two-page, single-sheet document on the Social Justice and Advocacy page.
