Theological education is essential for those called to serve in the Church, providing them with the foundation to teach, preach and lead with wisdom and compassion. Our bursaries make this journey accessible to all, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder one’s calling to serve God and community.
The Anglican Diocese of Toronto Foundation is deeply committed to fostering spiritual leadership and theological scholarship through our theological education bursaries. These bursaries offer aspiring clergy and lay leaders the unique opportunity to delve deeply into the Christian faith, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and spiritual formation necessary to guide the Church in the contemporary world.
Our bursaries cater to a wide range of educational pursuits within the realm of theological education:
- General theological training: For those preparing for ordained or lay ministry within the Anglican Church of Canada.
- Advanced degrees: Supporting post-graduate studies aimed at enriching the Church’s life and ministry.
- Doctor of Ministry: Assisting those in good standing with the Anglican Church of Canada to further their ministerial education.
“Those who are taught the word must share in all good things with their teacher.” – Galatians 6:6
These bursaries are designed to ensure that financial barriers do not hinder the spiritual and academic growth of potential leaders in our Church. They are need-based, focusing on helping students who otherwise might face challenges in completing their programs.
With bursaries ranging from covering up to 100% of tuition costs for Master of Divinity students considering ordination, to providing substantial support for doctoral and master’s degree students, your contributions make a tangible impact. Special bursaries also offer help for internship expenses, educational travel and other unique learning opportunities, ensuring a well-rounded theological education.
Your support not only aids in the academic and spiritual formation of future leaders but also invests in the ongoing vitality and growth of the Anglican Church. As we thank our current benefactors for their invaluable contributions, we invite you to join this circle of support. Help us ensure that every called individual has the opportunity to pursue their vocation, regardless of financial circumstances.
